I was using a D-Link travel router with no problem at all, unitl yesterday when I suddenly lost all wireless contact with it. My system recognized the device OK, but could not log on for some reason. After several attempts to reregister the device and to restart my PC, I then made the (perhaps stupid) decision to reset the D-Link by pressing the reset button.
Next I knew is that my PC now says that there is new firmware update and asks where to upload it to. It gives a warning not to upload to the wrong location as that can damage the device. But not being able to find the device through the browse option in my browser, nor a proper file to upload to, I decided to click "Send" anyway and that was a mistake, I think. Because it took a long time for the 'upload' to finish, in fact it probably never did because after half an hour or so I stopped the connection. But now when I want to access the router, it keeps saying that it requires new firmware upgrade.
So I'm stuck what to do now.
Does anyone know how to recover from this problem?
